How do we create value?

Organisations around the globe share a common imperative; securing the right talent for the right role.

We’ve revolutionised this process, changing the way recruitment, HR and talent acquisition teams hire. We’re a fully automated, online reference checking software that enables fast, secure and meaningful candidate feedback. We’ve empowered some of Australia’s largest organisations, the likes of Qantas and Westpac, to make confident, data-driven hiring decisions.

What are our engineers most proud of?

On the outside we might seem like a simple platform, but we’re complex under the hood. The tools and technologies we employ are at the innovative edge of the industry and we’re constantly looking for ways to upgrade our platform to ensure we keep it that way! Despite challenging ourselves to continually evolve we never cut corners, ensuring all of our new features are well-scoped and smoothly developed.

We embrace individual thought leadership and our talented engineers thrive on project ownership; developing features and leading a range of projects from creating our high-performing search engine with geo-location awareness, to isolating data infrastructure for business intelligence and analytics, to developing a robust Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment pipeline for ETL application.

Our team is passionate about the product and the difference it makes. We love hearing how much our clients love the platform and its ease of use. Our developers are driven by the problem they are solving for the industry and have created a product that’s powerful, yet simple to use, and runs like a dream allowing them to scale on demand while delivering new features without disruption.

What are the technical challenges we’re solving right now?

The opportunity for us to evolve the tech landscape in recruitment is immense and we’re constantly striving to update our product to ensure we’re at the forefront of driving tech-leadership in our industry.

We pride ourselves on our genuinely human approach to working with our clients, and we’re currently mindful that organisations across the globe are wading through uncharted waters as a result of recent global events. More than ever our focus is pinpointed on making the recruitment process as streamlined and efficient as possible for talent teams, and we’re optimising our product to deliver fast feedback and data and provide enhanced fraud detection when it comes to candidate references.

No two days are the same and we’re working on a vast range of initiatives including changes to our infrastructure moving APIs from zappa to serverless, centralised log monitoring and APM, delivering an upgraded VPN solution, and solving  CORS challenges with different browsers.

In which areas are we evolving our engineering maturity?

We’re scaling rapidly and are focused on evolving our technology and infrastructure at the same rate to provide a strong foundation for growth. We’ve worked hard to ensure we have a well-defined workflow in place to allow our team to cohesively work across multiple projects while still allowing the freedom for individual team members to challenge themselves and make their mark.

Like any tech company that’s scaling at pace, we recognise there are always areas to continue to bolster our team and create a framework that supports individual growth, experimentation, and learning. We’re looking at ways to further encourage resource sharing, upskilling, and exposing our developers to the latest technologies.

What’s our engineering culture like?

Our engineers boast trailblazing talent. Their deep knowledge, passion for our product, and wizard-like ability to develop new features from scratch inspires our broader team and we thrive on celebrating these wins. Tight-knit, collaborative, experimental, and energetic, our development team fuel our company culture and are expertly primed to drive us forward.
